How send emails through JangoSMTP with Magento

To send with Magento, you must configure your account to use SMTP.  The built-in SMTP Settings for Magento only work with Windows servers, and don't allow you to specify a username and password.  There is, however, a Magento Extension that allows you to send your emails through JangoSMTP. Follow the instructions below to configure your account to use JangoSMTP:

1. Download this Magento Extension: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/ASchroder/extension/1865/aschroder.com-smtp-pro.

2. Configure the 'SMTP Pro Email SMTP Settings' for this extension as follows:

  • Authentication: Login
  • Username: Your JangoSMTP username
  • Password: Your JangoSMTP password
  • Host: relay.jangosmtp.net
  • Port: 465
  • SSL Security: SSL

3. Move to the 'SMTP Pro Email General Settings' section, and enter the following:

  • Choose extension option: SMTP
  • Use Store Email Address for Reply-to: Your choice
  • Development Mode options: Development Mode disabled
  • Log all messages: Your choice

4. Click the 'Save Config' button.

5. Click the 'Run Self Test' button.  You should see successful results, and an entry for your test email in the 'Reports' tab of your JangoSMTP account.
